The more coats you apply, the darker the countertop will appear. The frequency of re-oiling or re-waxing is completely up to you because it is an aesthetic choice.

Routine Cleaning of Your Soapstone Countertop

Soapstone countertops are easy to clean. Because soapstone is a dense stone, any common household cleaner will work. However, we recommend using pH neutral cleaners because harsher cleaning agents will remove some or all the mineral oil or soapstone wax you have applied.
